About the event
'Les souffrances de Job' is a composition by Swiss composer Michèle Rusconi. It is written for soprano, narrator/ actor and ensemble. The Tel Aviv performance would be its world premiere, followed by a concert tour in Switzerland. The bilingual text is using dialogues and monologues from Hanoch Levin's play, first staged 1981 at the Cameri Theatre. It is alternatively sung and spoken in the original Hebrew and its French translation in a mixture of literature, theater and music - adding a dramatic layer to Levin's unique view on the biblical text .
